OVERVIEW

The Laboratory for the Study of Thermal and Energy Systems (Laboratoire d'Études des Systèmes Thermiques et Énergétiques, LESTE, LR99ES31) is a research laboratory at the National Engineering School of Monastir, located on the university campus in Skanes-Monastir. The laboratory was founded in 1999 by the late Professor Sassi Ben Nasrallah, who directed it until 2008. He was then succeeded by Professor Abdelmajid Jemni, and since 2021, Professor Maher Ben Chiekh has been leading the laboratory.

LESTE is organized into four research themes: Heat and Fluid Flows, Energy Systems, Energy and Environment, and Hydrogen. Each theme encompasses multiple research projects, with a total of 14 research projects currently in progress, each led by a dedicated team leader.

The laboratory has been honored twice, in 2003 and 2020, with the President of the Republic's National Award for Scientific Research.
