Laboratory of Excellence and Demonstration for Energy Conversion into Green Hydrogen and Its Utilization

Project Manager: Mediterranean Renewable Energy Centre - MEDREC

Budget: 1 M€

Objectives:

The LAB-PtH2 project aims to achieve two major objectives. First, it is committed to designing and developing an integrated modeling and decision support tool for green hydrogen supply infrastructure. This tool will enable stakeholders to explore various scenarios and make informed decisions with full knowledge of the facts. At the same time, the project seeks to develop prototypes and demonstration systems for the production, storage, and use of hydrogen, as well as other key components of the energy infrastructure. This dual approach, moving from theory to practice, will validate the advanced concepts and demonstrate the technical feasibility of the proposed solutions.
This combined approach advocates for cross-border actions involving joint planning of cross-border infrastructure models for the use of renewable energy sources. By integrating both long-term strategic planning and the practical implementation of innovative solutions, the LAB-PtH2 project aspires to have a significant impact in the field of green hydrogen production, storage, and utilization.
